In 1997, he completed his specialization training at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Psychiatry and Diseases and became a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist. He received the title of "associate professor" in 2000 and the title of "Professor" in 2007.
His books titled Child Psychiatry, School Phobia, Children in Divorced Families and Impulsivity in Children have been published. He continues to serve as the chairman of the Green Crescent.
He is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Ibn Haldun University. He also gives lectures and supervision to clinical psychology master's and doctoral students at the University’s Psychotherapy Application and Research Center (IPAM).
