She completed her undergraduate education in psychology and subsequently her master's degree at the University of Vienna in Austria in 2010. She completed her master's degree in clinical psychology and child-adolescent psychology. While writing her master's thesis, she also worked as an assistant at the Psychology Department of the University of Vienna.
She received theoretical therapy training for one year at an officially recognized psychotherapy institute affiliated with the cognitive behavioral school in Germany. Again, within the scope of psychotherapy training, she went through a process of 'self-experience' and did a practical therapy internship in the depression service of a clinic. Since 2012, she continued as a research assistant in the psychology department of Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. She completed her doctorate at the same university in 2016 and taught in the psychology department for a period after hers doctorate
As of the fall semester of 2017, she started working as a faculty member at Ibn Haldun University. After returning to Turkey, she attended many therapy trainings and supervisions organized by the Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy Association. While serving as a Board Member and Director at Ibn Haldun University Psychotherapy Application and Research Center (IPAM), she also accepts adult and adolescent clients. Dr. Burcu Uysal, who can also apply psychotherapy in German, is married and the mother of two children.
