She completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology in 2010 at the University of Vienna, Austria, followed by a master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the same institution. During her thesis stage, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology at the University of Vienna. She received psychotherapy training in the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach at an institute in Germany. As part of this training, she underwent her own therapy process and completed a clinical internship in the depression unit of a clinic in Germany.
From 2012 to 2016, she continued her academic career as a research associate in the Department of Psychology at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. In 2016, she received her Ph.D. from the same university and subsequently began teaching as a lecturer in the department.
After returning to Turkey, she complemented her psychotherapy training in Germany with additional education from the Association for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapies, bringing her total training hours to over 500. She also completed EMDR therapy training at the Institute for Behavioral Sciences and is currently an EMDR Europe Accredited Therapist.
Since 2017, she has been serving as a faculty member at Ibn Haldun University. She is also the Director and Chair of the Executive Board of the Center for Psychotherapy Research (IPAM). She is fluent in English and German.
