EDUCATION
After completing her high school education, she went to New York state for university education. She started studying Early Childhood Education at Hudson Valley Community College, which is an internship-oriented department, and thus did an internship at a different school every semester. She also had the opportunity to work in schools with various educational philosophies. After graduating from her department, she opened her own nursery. While she lived in various states, she continued her education in the psychology departments of the University of New Mexico and Rochester Institute of Technology.
She also wrote articles on child education and development for 9 years, together with experts in her field, for Turkish-speaking mothers on the website annelik.org, which she founded.
She went to Pittsburgh in 2010 to continue her education at the Applied Developmental Psychology department at the University of Pittsburgh. She graduated from here in 2012 with high honors and a 3.9 GPA. She started her master's degree in the same department and completed her education in 2019.
Since it is an applied department, she worked with different age groups and teenage mothers in Pittsburgh during her undergraduate and graduate studies in different educational environments, especially on pre-school education, school preparation, tests applied to children, neuro-developmental disorders and play therapy. She took part in scientific research projects. She continued to work on projects that she started as an intern at the "Office of Child Development" research office of the department after graduation.
She is in the thesis phase of the Ibn Haldun University Clinical Psychology integrated doctoral program, which she started in 2020, and continues to actively see clients at the Ibn Haldun University Psychotherapy and Research Center (IPAM).
WORKING AREAS:
In her sessions, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), which she was trained in, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Child-Centered Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) methods.
She provides child, adolescent, adult and couple therapy and provides therapy in Turkish and English.
