Our Clinical Psychology PhD student and IPAM therapist, Sümeyye Köten Güçlü, presented her doctoral dissertation research “Effectiveness of a CBT-based Mobile Intervention in a Developing Country: A Randomized Controlled Trial from Türkiye”, conducted under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Burcu Uysal, at the 11th World Congress of the Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CCBT), held in San Francisco on 25 – 28 June, 2026.
Although numerous mobile applications provide mental health services in Türkiye, there is currently no locally developed mental health mobile application whose effectiveness has been evaluated through a randomized controlled trial in the scientific literature. In this regard, the study was presented as one of the first of its kind in Türkiye and aimed to advance the scientific understanding of digital mental health interventions.
The congress also provided an opportunity to establish scientific connections with researchers from different universities and countries. These collaborations are expected to lay the groundwork for future international research partnerships and new studies in the field of digital mental health.
