IPAM Therapists Contribute Academically at International Conference
IPAM therapists presented their scientific presentations at the International Congress of Contextual Science and Psychotherapies 2025 & 4th Istanbul ACT Days, held at Istanbul Technical University from November 6 to 9. Through these presentations, they had the opportunity to share their clinical psychology research with academics and students from various universities.

Therapists working under IPAM presented their academic work in the field of clinical psychology at the International Congress of Contextual Science and Psychotherapies 2025 & 4th Istanbul ACT Days, held at Istanbul Technical University from November 6 to 9, 2025. By doing so, they enhanced the visibility of IPAM’s scientific productivity and innovative approaches at both national and international levels.

The presentations given at the congress strengthen IPAM’s therapeutic practices and academic work, supporting the institution’s mission to reinforce the scientific foundations of psychotherapy and raise public awareness in line with its organizational vision.

  • Emine Serra Nebati participated in the panel titled “ACT Group Practices: Challenges and Opportunities”, where she presented findings on ACT-based interventions for the prevention of eating disorders. Her presentation contributed to the academic evaluation of group therapy practices and the development of effective therapeutic methods.
  • Feyzanur Taştekne Kartal introduced an Islamic-based grief therapy protocol in her presentation titled “Resolving Unfinished Business in Bereavement through Chair-Work: A Case Study of Islamically Integrated Therapy Protocol.” This work draws inspiration from the writings of early Islamic scholars (al-Kindi, al-Razi, Ibn Sina) on grief and loss, contributing to the integration of culturally and religiously sensitive therapeutic approaches with academic foundations.
  • Zeynep Ebrar Paşa presented The Effect of Religiously Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RCBT) on Psychological Symptoms: A Single-Case Experimental Study,” in which she introduced the TMTT Model (Contemplation–Self-Reflection–Repentance–Reliance on God). Her findings highlighted the model’s effects in reducing psychological symptoms and enhancing life satisfaction, contributing to the academic evaluation of individualized therapy approaches.
  • Tuğana Gültekin, together with IPAM therapist Fatma Zehra Göçmüş and psychology undergraduate interns, conducted a systematic review titled “The Effectiveness of Parent-Focused Online Interventions on Childhood Anxiety: A Systematic Review,” analyzing 26 studies. Their work demonstrated the positive effects of parent-focused online interventions on childhood anxiety and contributed to the scientific literature in this field.

IPAM continues to support the academic productivity of its therapists and the contribution of their scientific outputs to the institution’s research, education, and clinical practice mission. The studies presented at the congress reinforce IPAM’s vision of grounding innovative therapeutic practices in scientific evidence and enhancing societal awareness. The institution will continue to integrate academic research with clinical practice to promote the translation of scientific knowledge into therapeutic interventions.
