Organized collaboratively by İbn Haldun University Career Center and the Center for Psychotherapy Research (IPAM), the workshop offered students an opportunity to explore their personal values, interests, and career goals. Psychotherapist Yaqeen Sikander guided participants on aligning their academic experiences with their professional journeys. Before the workshop, Deputy Director Kübra Kayaokay briefed participants on the center’s activities and emphasized the importance of self-awareness in career planning.

On November 18, 2025, the workshop titled “Creating a Roadmap Based on Purpose, Passion, and Profession” was held, allowing students to integrate their university experiences with their personal values and career objectives. The event, organized jointly by İbn Haldun University Career Center and the Center for Psychotherapy Research (IPAM), provided participants with an interactive and thought-provoking learning environment.

Before the workshop commenced, Deputy Director Kübra Kayaokay welcomed the participants and shared information about the center’s activities. She highlighted the significance of career planning as a journey and stated:

“Career planning is a lifelong journey. A key question to ask yourself during this process is, ‘How can I best discover my potential and personal direction?’ Understanding your own values, interests, beliefs, and strengths is fundamental for making informed and conscious decisions. There may be ups and downs along the way, but what matters most is knowing yourself, clarifying your direction, and moving forward with confidence.”

Following Kayaokay’s address, Psychotherapist Yaqeen Sikander led an interactive session based on the “3 P” model: Purpose, Passion, and Profession. Sikander guided participants in exploring their personal values, interests, and strengths, and demonstrated ways to align these elements with career planning through practical examples. Students had the opportunity to reflect on their academic and professional journeys within this framework.

During the workshop, participants examined different career options while identifying their sources of motivation and internal goals. The session also explored the psychological and emotional dynamics behind questions such as, “Should I pursue an academic career, work in the private sector, or enter public service?” Participants recognized the role of emotions and personal values in decision-making and developed strategies for making conscious and effective choices.

Sikander’s insights on transitioning from university to professional life helped students plan their goals in tangible and actionable ways. Individual and group exercises further supported participants in linking their academic experiences with their career objectives.

The workshop concluded with active participation from all attendees. Students enhanced their self-awareness and gained new perspectives on integrating their values and interests into career planning. Thanks to its interactive format and example-rich content, the event helped students approach their future professional lives with confidence, clarity, and motivation.
