As part of a project conducted by Ibn Haldun University and supported by TÜBİTAK, the first phase of group therapy sessions for individuals who lost loved ones in the earthquake was held in central Adıyaman.
Focusing on the psychological, social, and daily life challenges experienced following a loss, the project aims to provide psychosocial support to those who lost a loved one in the February 6 earthquakes. In the group sessions organized as part of this initiative, participants are encouraged to share their experiences regarding the grieving process, coping mechanisms, emotional difficulties, and social support needs, guided by experts.
The team that traveled to Adıyaman for the first phase of the work included project director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Uysal. The group sessions, coordinated by Uysal, will continue throughout May in Adıyaman and Gaziantep.
Applications are still open for individuals who have lost a loved one in the earthquake and wish to receive support regarding the challenges they face following the loss. Those wishing to participate in the program can apply via the following application form:
